Los Angeles is known for its great weather, celebrities and luxurious lifestyle while San Francisco, and more specifically Silicon Valley, stands as the epicenter of technology-based companies. But many tech companies, both start-ups and enterprise level, have made homes for themselves in parts of LA such as Santa Monica, Venice Beach, and Marina del Ray. Our latest Silicon Beach series will provide monthly highlights and news from the sunny tech hub.

For brands just starting out in this area or looking to network, Silicon Beach has community groups that host monthly events to bring together entrepreneurs at venues, such as the OMNi Hotel in downtown LA and Viceroy in Santa Monica. This allows marketers to come together to enjoy food and drinks while learning more about various types of businesses in the area.

One of the largest and most well known brands that call Silicon Beach home is Snapchat, which takes up large amounts of real estate to create a campus-like atmosphere for its growing brand. Google and Facebook have also made their way to this up and coming tech hub, expanding their campuses from Silicon Valley.

Besides these popular brands, Silicon Beach remains home for many startups that value the feel of a close-knit tech community.

Just this past month, Silicon Beach has created buzz with the birth of its native tech companies. Apple is going to be launching a new series titled “Planet of the Apps” which will include celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Will.I.Am, all who have founded e-commerce businesses. A newer brand, Petnet, a pet tech company, has just closed on a round of deals totalling $10 million dollars in order to expand their product line and distribution channels.

As a digital marketing agency headquartered in New York, becoming a part of Silicon Beach has already provided us with exciting new relationships and partnerships. Working with start-ups and video on demand clients in the area is just the beginning of our west coast journey. We’ll continue to be hosting events, educating brand marketers on digital tactics to acquire new customers for their businesses.

Silicon beach will continue to grow with the rise of on-demand businesses and tech start ups. With success stories such as Dollar Shave Club and Scopely, Silicon Beach proves to be an essential home in growing your business to its full potential.
