Amazon is taking a big step in digital ad sales with its plan to increase the available space for their Sponsored Products ads by placing them around the internet. Amazon’s Sponsored Ads are Amazon’s main ad format where they run campaigns that are associated with terms that consumers search for. This is very efficient as it reveals to Amazon what customers want to buy and also provides a direct link to buy said product, increasing conversion rates to over triple that of Google’s ads.

Despite the infamous crash during the first hour of Prime Day, Amazon has announced that this year's Prime Day was its "biggest in history". Prime members purchased more than 100 million products during this year’s event.
In 2015, Amazon launched Amazon Exclusives. Amazon Exclusives grew immensely in the first year; what started with just fifteen sellers turned into more than 600 brands and 200,000 products with sales growing by more than 250%.
With all signs pointing to Amazon Prime Day starting on July 16th in 2018 and only lasting a total of 36 hours, there is a huge rush to ensure brands are set up for success. Last year, Prime day was the biggest shopping day with a 100%-150% increase in attributed ad sales on sponsored products when compared to the previous Tuesday.
